All three boats run two-stroke fuel. Mix it, fill on the ramp, and put everything back in the flammables cabinet.
Storage
- Jerry cans live in the flammables cabinet when not on a boat. Close it after use.
- Large cans = unmixed 91 unleaded (yellow + black). Both marked UNLEADED.
- The green tank is the two-stroke mixing tank.
- Boat tanks and fuel lines store in the tool shed over winter — full tanks in the flammables cabinet.
Mix — two-stroke 50:1
50:1 — 20 mL of oil per 1 L of petrol
Option 1 — in the green tank: 5 L of 91 unleaded + 100 mL two-stroke oil → shake → pour into the boat tank.
Option 2 — in the boat tank: add oil at 20 mL per litre. Check the tank’s size first.
Fill
On the ramp by the shed only — never on board, on the beach or on sand.
- Use a funnel. Don’t overfill. Mind your back with the big cans.
- Return the cans to the cabinet and close / lock up the shed (the roller door needs a programmed fob).
Never / Always
- Never mix unleaded and mixed fuel.
- Never put unleaded in a mixed-fuel can (without mixing), or mixed fuel in an unleaded can.
- Never refuel a tank while it is on the boat.
- Always label every tank and can with the fuel it holds.
